Rematch
Rematch reimagines iconic sporting events through immersive experiences, allowing audiences to relive legendary moments. This particular experience takes fans back to what is widely regarded as the greatest fight in history: the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ in Zaire, 1974.
By Nevele was commissioned by Rematch to create a teaser advert for their upcoming international event, Rumble in the Jungle Rematch. Founder Gideon ‘Nevele’ Cudjoe directed the campaign, bringing in Raheem Bakaré as co-director, Caroline Adeyemi (Roco) for Cultural Insights, and Michael Adeyeye (Indetail Studios) as producer.
The project’s Executive Producer, Trevor Beattie (a self-proclaimed #1 Ali fan and Rematch investor), set the tone with an initial script. By Nevele envisioned a trailer that felt like a film, documentary, event promo, and mood piece all in one. Backed by the Muhammad Ali estate and ABG, and featuring footage from ESPN and British Pathé, the ad-campaign came to life with a phenomenal production team, seeing it through from conception to post-production under By Nevele’s direction.

By Nevele was commissioned to create an original piece of music that would align seamlessly with the visuals of the advert. Drawing inspiration from 1974 Kinshasa, Afrobeat, and the sound of James Brown, our founder collaborated with his band, Calibar Music, to craft the project’s ‘In the Jungle’ soundtrack.
